Exclusive Japanese JDM Plates Available in Upcoming Auction

Car enthusiasts and collectors will soon have the opportunity to secure a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) number plate, with the next special edition plate auction set to commence on Friday, 14 February 2025.

This highly anticipated auction, run by Slattery Auctions and Valuations, will see the South Australian Government release 15 exclusive plates, following the success of last year’s auction, where 10 plates were sold. These special edition plates are sequentially issued from 00JDM to 99JDM, with only 100 plates available in total, making them a highly sought-after collector’s item.

Exclusive Ownership Rights

All JDM plates will be auctioned with ‘Class Specific Rights’, granting buyers long-term ownership. This means the plates can be transferred between vehicles registered in the same name and can also be sold to third parties, offering potential investment opportunities.

The auction is open to all bidders; however, plates can only be affixed to vehicles registered in South Australia. Revenue generated from the sales will be directed back to the Department for Infrastructure and Transport to fund services for South Australians.
